The 3 Bs of Marketing
When it comes to marketing, we often use catchy ways to remember important terms, such as the 4ps and the 7ps. However, we often overlook the significance of the 3Bs-Brand Identity, Brand Image, and Brand Personality. These three elements play a crucial role in shaping a brand’s identity and perception. Let’s delve into these concepts and understand their importance in marketing.
Brand Identity
The verbal and visual elements that define a brand, like their typography, the colors they use, or the logo. Think of Coca-Cola’s white and red colors or apples as clean and minimal designs. They even have their font for all their devices. Brand identity aims to create a recognizable image that conveys the brand’s mission and values to its target consumers.
Brand Image
The impression of a brand is in the consumer’s mind. This is all based on public relations, consumer experience, expectations, and word-of-mouth. One example is Volvo. When you think of Volvo, you think of safety. Their slogan is simple yet takes up so much: “Volvo, for life.” Brand image can impact a buyer’s decision process and loyalty based on how they feel or perceive a brand.
